Captain M. Deaver
Captain Mitch Deaver joined the Hope Mills Police Department in November of 2022 with 30 years of law enforcement experience.
Captain Deaver began his law enforcement career as a patrol officer with the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department in 1995 before joining the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation in 1998. Captain Deaver retired from the NCSBI in October of 2023 as the Special Agent in Charge of the Southeastern District Field Office based out of Fayetteville.
During the course of his career with the NCSBI, Captain Deaver worked as a field agent in the Southeastern District before transferring to the Training Section. Captain Deaver was promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge while assigned to the Training Section, before returning to the Southeastern District where he was later promoted to Special Agent in Charge.
Captain Deaver graduated from Methodist College in 1995 with a BS in Political Science. Captain Deaver has completed numerous training courses during his law enforcement career, including the West Point Leadership Program. Captain Deaver also holds the North Carolina Advanced Law Enforcement Certification.
