The crime analyst position is new to the HMPD. This position is responsible for compiling data from reports into the computer system, so that crimes and other traits can be analyzed for crime trends and patterns. The data will be used by staff to anticipate crimes and relocate resources to areas of the town to address problems.
In addition, the crime analyst will work closely with investigations in looking for connections between cases and to assist in increasing the solvability rate. This position is also responsible for working with the chief of police and other agencies to address situations that may affect Hope Mills. As a result, the department will be able to implement new programs and offer new services for our community.
