Join the Lynn Richards Group in conjunction with Hope Mills Parks & Recreation for A Southern Christmas on Main! 6 ft. tall Christmas Trees are up for grabs to be decorated by YOU, your family, school group, local business, etc. All décor, ornaments, and tree toppers, are up to you! Trees will be placed next to sidewalk along Hope Mills Lake for every car/walker to see and admire!

Rules Local businesses, religious organizations, non-profits, service clubs, and individuals/families are allowed to enter.

  • You must provide all decorations for your tree. A string of battery powered lights will be provided, however, feel free to add any additional lights. Lights on trees must be solar or battery operated lights as electricity is not provided. No edible décor.
  • The Town of Hope Mills/Lynn Richards Group is not responsible for any damage to or items stolen from decorated trees.
  • You are free to express your creativity and originality, but we ask that your tree represent your business, organization, or family. (Needs to be family friendly)
  • The Town of Hope Mills will provide signage for each tree with the name of your choice along with a QR Code linking any social media platform/website. 

Decorating Procedures and Guidelines

For weather-related and environmental reasons, the following items are not allowed in tree decorating:

  • Berries, popcorn, dried fruit, etc.
  • Candles, aerosol snow or other flammable items
  • Flocking or tinsel
  • Paper, cardboard or any other material that may be damaged due to weather conditions (unless laminated to withstand possible weather conditions)

Registration must be completed by November 6, 2024.

Trees will be placed place along Main Street in front of Hope Mills Lake walking trail (sidewalk) between November 11-15. (location may vary due to construction)

Trees must be decorated between November 18 - 27. All trees MUST BE DECORATED BY NOVEMBER 27, 2024. (This will ensure they are up and decorated in time for all of our Christmas events that are held at Hope Mills Lake including our tree lighting ceremony and the annual Christmas Parade.)

Décor and Ornaments must be removed no later than Wednesday, January 8th. Any décor left on trees on Thursday, January 9th will be disposed of. HMPR will remove all trees Thursday, January 9th.
